The Dom Who Loved Me (Masters and Mercenaries, #1)
3 of 5 stars false
A routine mission…
Sean Taggart is hunting a deadly terrorist, and his only lead is the lovely Grace Hawthorne. She's the executive assistant for an employment agency Sean suspects is a front for illegal activities. To get the truth, he is going to have to get very close to Grace, a task he is all too eager to undertake when he discovers her deliciously submissive nature.
…turns into a dangerous seduction.
Soon, Grace Hawthorne is living a double life. By day, she is the widowed mother of two college-aged sons. By night, she submits to Sean's every dark desire. She's living out her wildest fantasies of pleasure—intimate acts of trust she's only read about. As passion engulfs her, a murderer strikes, and Grace learns that Sean has a deeply hidden agenda. Will Sean choose his mission and break her heart or be the Master of her dreams?

Review

First of all, I would just like to thank the cover artist of this book because to be honest , that gorgeous front cover is what drew me to read this book. It is irresistible.
This was an interesting, sexy story. Sean uses his skills as a Dom to get close to Grace. Manipulating her to get the information he is after. This leads to some very steamy scenes. It didn't, however, feel like it took over the book.
Unfortunately this story was really slow going for me for the first 50%. I couldn't connect to the characters, so couldn't get into the book or sympathise with anything. However about halfway through things, got a bit more interesting and I found myself settling in and enjoying the action.
There is humour to this story, so it's not all suspense, action and heavy emotion a nice reprieve from some of the books I am read lately.
It was a bit sexy, I find I really would like to visit Club Sanctum. The supporting characters of this group were really great and as a result I cannot wait to see more of them in future books.
A good start to a new erotic, romantic suspense.
